How does ChevronWest Credit Union Collect my Information?
We collect your personal information, for example, when you:
- Open an account
- Apply for a loan
- Pay bills
- Use your credit/debit card
- Deposit money
Why Can’t I Limit all Sharing?
Federal law only gives you the right to limit:
- sharing for affiliates’ everyday business purposes
— information about your creditworthiness
- affiliates from using information to market to you
- sharing for nonaffiliates to market to you
State laws and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing.
Definitions:
Affiliates — Companies related by common ownership or
control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies. * ChevronWest Credit Union has no affiliates.
Nonaffiliates — Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies. * ChevronWest Credit Union does not share with
nonaffiliates so they can market to you.
Joint Marketing — A formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you. * ChevronWest Credit Union joint marketing
partners include CUNA Mutual.
Important Information About Opening an Account:
In an effort to protect you and our country, the USA Patriot Act was signed into law in 2001. To help our government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.
What this means for you? When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth and other information that will allow us to identify you such as a driver's license, passport, state ID card or Military ID. We appreciate your cooperation with our efforts to protect and maintain the safety of our members and our country.
